The 4 arrondissements of the Ille-et-Vilaine department are:

  1. Arrondissement of Fougères-Vitré, (subprefecture: Fougères) with 116 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 177,876 in 2013.
  2. Arrondissement of Redon, (subprefecture: Redon) with 52 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 105,580 in 2013.
  3. Arrondissement of Rennes, (prefecture of the Ille-et-Vilaine department: Rennes) with 120 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 581,647 in 2013.
  4. Arrondissement of Saint-Malo, (subprefecture: Saint-Malo) with 63 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 154,820 in 2013.
