Asta Gröting (born 1961) is a German contemporary artist, film maker and ventriloquist.[1] She is also currently a professor at the Braunschweig University of Art.

Biography

Asta Gröting was born in Herford, Germany in 1961. She studied sculpture at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts, graduating in 1986.[2] Gröting's earlier work focused on traditional sculpture, before she turned to artistic expression through film, starting 1993.[3] Gröting's works often present ordinary, familiar elements, where the viewer's attention is drawn towards their material transformation; caused by the exaggeration of the familiar.
