Asterophysus batrachus, the Gulper Catfish or Torpedo Catfish, is a species of catfish (order Siluriformes) of the family Auchenipteridae. It is the only species of the genus Asterophysus.[1] This species originates from the Orinoco and Rio Negro basins of Venezuela and Brazil.[1] It grows to a length of about 25.0 centimetres (9.84 in) SL.[2]
