Babesia caballi

Babesia caballi - protist belonging to Chromalveolata kingdom, family Babesiidae. In horses causes babesiosis disease, called "equine babesiosis". Length 2.5-5 µm, width 2 µm. Usually has oval shape. Its vector and second feeders are ticks. In North America B. caballi is being spread by Dermacentor nitens.
