Batchimeg Tuvshintugs (born as Tüvshintögsiin Batchimeg, Template:Lang-mn; born 3 May 1986 in Mongolia) is an International Master, a chess Woman Grandmaster and FIDE Arbiter.[1]
2006 U.S. Championship
Batchimeg recorded several major upsets in the 2006 U.S. Chess Championship held March 2–11 in San Diego, California, scoring 3½ out of 5 points against grandmasters in the first five rounds. She defeated Grandmaster Alexander Fishbein in round one, lost to Grandmaster Yury Shulman in round two, defeated Grandmaster Boris Kreiman three, drew Grandmaster Boris Gulko in round four, and then won against Grandmaster Julio Becerra in round five. The tournament bulletin after round five proclaimed her performance a "sensation". However, she lost her remaining four games, ultimately tying for 27th-30th place out of 32 in her tournament group. Nevertheless, this was still enough to make a norm for the Woman Grandmaster title.
Other events
Batchimeg won the Mongolian Women's Chess Championship in 2011. She competed in the FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2013–14. At the Sharjah event, her 6/11 result earned her a GM norm.
