Bell Labs Record was a publication of the Bell System for many decades beginning in the early 1900s. This house organ included descriptions of technologies created at many Bell System locations for basic research, devices, technologies, systems, and operations research relevant to telephone company, manufacturing, and government applications. The public relations department distributed the Record to all Bell System employees. It was slimmer and less scholarly than Bell Labs Technical Journal. On January 1, 1984 the magazine was transferred to AT&T Technologies and subsequently to Lucent Technologies.
