Beyond the Gates is a 2016 American horror film directed by Jackson Stewart and starring Barbara Crampton.[1] It premiered on June 2, 2016 at the Los Angeles Film Festival.[2]

Plot

Two estranged brothers reunite at their missing father's video store to clean out the property and sell his belongings. As they search the store, they stumble across a myterious VCR board game called 'Beyond The Gates' that holds a connection to the disappearance of their father and deadly consequences for anyone who plays it.[3]

Cast

Reception

The film has been met with generally positive reviews. Michael Klug of horrorfreaknews.com praised the film saying "Performances are front and center here. And while all three of the leads are powerful, engaging and fun, I give a slight edge to the work of Chase Williamson as younger brother John – who is having a tough time in life..." he then goes on to praise Barbara Crampton's performance, stating "And then there’s the host of the mysterious VHS tape; Evelyn – played by none other than horror legend Barbara Crampton (who also produced here). She goes over-the-top in a fun, Elvira-ish way, and her frequent moments of silence on the television screen in the background – as our lead threesome decide on their next move – are truly unnerving."[4]
