Billy Smart Sr (1894-1966) was a showman , fairground proprietor and circus proprietor

He was the owner of Billy Smart's Fun Fair and bought a circus in 1946. The circus toured alongside Smart's funfair.

According to the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom (please refer to references), "Billy Smart was such a colourful character that on his death his lifelong friend Sir Billy Butlin described him as the greatest showman of our time and probably the last of the great showmen."
