Bistorta is a genus of flowering plants in the Polygonaceae family with only one accepted species, Bistorta sherei H. Ohba & Akiyama.[1] It was historically included in Polygonum or Persicaria,[citation needed] but was supported as a separate clade by molecular phylogenetic analysis.[2]

- Bistorta bistortoides (Pursh) Small and Bistorta macrophylla (D.Don) Sojak are unresolved names.[1]
- Bistorta officinalis Delarbre and Bistorta plumosa (Small) Greene are synonyms of Persicaria bistorta (L.) Samp.[1]
- Bistorta vivipara (L.) Delarbre is a synonym of Persicaria vivipara (L.) Ronse Decr.[1]
