Bjørn Talén

Bjørn Talén (1890 – 1945) was a Norwegian opera singer.

He debuted in 1914. For 1918–20 he was with the Opera Comique in Kristiania, and then with the Staatsoper in Berlin. His roles included Cavaradossi, Rudolpho, Don José, Otello, Manrico, Canio and Dick Johnson.

Recordings

Four of Talén's recordings (Die Zauberflöte: Dies Bildnis Ist bezaubernd schön, Der Barbier von Bagdad: So leb' ich noch...Vor deinem Fenster die Blumen, Aida: Già i sacerdoti adunansi . . . Ah! tu dei vivere!, The Tales of Hoffman: Il était une fois) are published on Four Scandinavian Tenors of the Past (Preiser Lebendige Vergangenheit B0000023QR).

Hågå Gård

In 1936 he and Cecilie Schou bought Hågå Gård (Peer Gynt-farm), which has since then been owned by his family. The current owner is Christian Mikkel Dobloug, the grandson of Bjørn Talén and Cecilie Schou.
