Brayan Mateo Caicedo Ramos (born 14 August 2006) is a Colombian footballer currently playing as a forward for Porto.
Club career
[edit]Born in Tumaco in the Nariño Department of Colombia, Caicedo began his career with local side Comfamiliar, before passing through another amateur team, Gambeta, and then professional side Bogotá.[2] He later joined the academy of Cali-based Cyclones, where his performances earned him a call-up to the Colombian under-17 side.[2][3]
In late June 2023, it was reported that Caicedo would join Portuguese side Porto, but only after spending two years with Leones in Colombia, as he was not yet eighteen.[4] On 11 October 2023, he was named by English newspaper The Guardian as one of the best players born in 2006 worldwide.[5]
International career
[edit]Caicedo was first called up to the Colombian under-17 side in 2022, playing in two friendlies against Ecuador.[2] His performances with the side, including four games at the 2023 South American U-17 Championship, reportedly caught the attention of more than twenty teams internationally, according to journalist Pipe Sierra.[6]
On 23 August 2024, he signed a 5-years deal for Porto.[7]
