CTRL+SHFT
CTRL+SHFT collective is an arts collective, including 12 studios and a gallery space, run out of West Oakland, CA. They were a recipient of Round 9 of Southern Exposure's Alternative Exposure grant in 2015.[1] The gallery hosts rotating exhibitions, lectures,[2][3] and public programming.
Formation
CTRL+SHFT is a Bay Area arts collective located in West Oakland and was established in 2015. [4] It comprises 12 rotating members that identify as female or non-binary. [5]
Principles and Practices
CTRL+SHFT art collective focuses on providing a platform for artists of color, women, queer and gender non-conforming artists.[4][6] Three main principles that the collective promotes and identifies with is inclusivity, experimentation, and leadership. [7]
Members
The CTRL+SHFT collective consists of Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo, Allison Chalco, Caroline Charuk, Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle, Jessica Hubbard, Jay Katelansky, Em Meine, Erica Molesworth, Addy Rabinovitch, Megan Reed, Lindsay Tunkl, and Maryam Yousif [5].
