The Purple Owl (Caligo beltrao) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. The species can be found in Brazil.

The wingspan is about 120 mm.

The larvae feed on Canna indica, Calathea zebrina, Musa spp., and Hedychium coronarium.
