Caloplaca albovariegata (variegated orange[citation needed] lichen) is a gray, blue-gray, or dark green[1] crustose areolate lichen that grows on rocks in areas of western North America such as Arizona and California.[2] It is common in the Mojave Desert.[1] It has no prothallus.[2] It is in the Caloplaca fungus genus of the Teloschistaceae family.[2] It is similar to Caloplaca peliophylla, which has lighter brown apothecia discs and more narrow spore isthmus.[2]
