Carla Guelfenbein Dobry (born 1959) is a Chilean novelist and screenwriter. She was born in Santiago into a family of Russian-Jewish origin.[1] She has lived for many years in the UK, where she studied at Essex University and Saint Martin's School of Art. She has worked as a designer, art director, and editor of Elle magazine in Chile.

She has published several novels including El revés del alma, La mujer de mi vida and El resto es silencio. Her work has appeared in El País and El Mercurio among others, and her novels have been translated into most major European languages.[2][3]
