The Boneset Borer (Carmenta pyralidiformis) is a moth of the Sesiidae family.[1] It was described by Walker in 1856. It is known from North America, including Arkansas, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio and Virginia.

The wingspan is about 21 mm.

The larvae feed on the roots of boneset, a wetland plant found along streams and ditch banks.[2]
