Certhilauda is a genus of larks in the Alaudidae family living in the southern regions of Africa. The genus was formerly named Heterocorys.
It contains the following six species:
- Short-clawed lark (Certhilauda chuana)
- Karoo long-billed lark (Certhilauda subcoronata)
- Benguela long-billed lark (Certhilauda benguelensis)
- Eastern long-billed lark (Certhilauda semitorquata)
- Cape long-billed lark (Certhilauda curvirostris)
- Agulhas long-billed lark (Certhilauda brevirostris)
Some authorities, either presently or formerly, recognize several additional species as belonging to the genus Certhilauda including:
- Spike-heeled lark (as C. albofasciata).[1]
- Greater hoopoe-lark (as the bifasciated lark, C. desertorum)[2]
- Karoo lark (as C. albescens)[3]
- Red lark (as C. burra, C. erythroclamys or C. harei)[4]
- Dune lark (as C. erythrochlamys)[5]
- Barlow's lark (as C. barlowi)[6]
- Somali lark (as C. somalica)[7]
