Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology aka CEWiT is public-private initiative to develop indigenous world-class Next Generation wireless technology in India. It is a research organisation established by the Indian government’s Department of Information Technology (DIT) in partnership with the Indian telecom industry. The Telecommunication Network research group (TENET) at IIT Madras is playing a key role in incubating CEWiT.

Overview

CeWiT research on broadband wireless technologies addressing a wide range of issues relating to air interface, core network & services and actively contributing to 4G and 5G wireless standards, 3GPP LTE, LTE-Advanced, NR and IEEE 802.16m WiMAX.
