Chad Walter was born on June 10, 1971, in Albion, New York. He is the Crew chief for Robinson Racing Team’s number 66 Toyota driven by Brett Moffitt. He is married to Sherry Walter.

Before landing the job as crew chief in 2005, he worked as an engineer for Hendrick’s Busch program. He has also worked with Dale Earnhardt, Inc., Bobby Labonte, and NEMCO Motorsports.

He studied at Cornell University where he joined the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers' race car design team. His design team won the national championship twice, enhancing his love for racing.

In late February 2008, he was suspended from all NASCAR events for six races for having an illegal rear spoiler in the opening inspection on Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s race-car. He was fined $25,000 and placed on probation until December 31, 2008. He resigned from the team in July 2008.[1]
