Chaim Deutsch is the Council member for the 48th District of the New York City Council. He is a Democrat. The district includes Brighton Beach, Gerritsen Beach, Gravesend, Manhattan Beach, Marine Park, Midwood, Plum Beach and Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn.

Life and career

A lifelong resident of Brooklyn, Deutsch is a graduate of the NYPD Citizens Police Academy as well as the New York City. He was very influential in his community following the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. He has been married for over 25 years and has 5 children.

New York City Council

He was elected to the 48th Council District, in Brooklyn, New York on November 5, 2013, Deutsch defeating Republican David Storobin. He succeeded Democrat Mike Nelson on the city council.[1]
