Cher Ndour (born 27 July 2004) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Currently a free agent, he most recently played for Primeira Liga club Benfica.
Club career
Benfica
Ndour began his football training at the youth academy of ASD San Giacomo, before moving to the youth academy of Brescia, before moving to the youth academy of Atalanta at the age of 9.[1] On 31 July 2020, he transferred to Benfica.[2] He made his professional debut with Benfica B in a 2–0 Liga Portugal 2 win over U.D. Oliveirense on 2 May 2021, coming in as a sub in the 91st minute replacing Gonçalo Ramos.[3] At 16 years and 279, Ndour is the youngest ever debutante for Benfica B, taking the record from João Félix.[4]
International career
Born in Italy to a Senegalese father and Italian mother, Ndour is a youth international for Italy.[5]
In June 2023, he was included in the Italian under-19 squad for the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Malta.[6]
