Chinese Civil War (disambiguation)
The Chinese Civil War generally refers to the Chinese Civil War between Chinese Nationalists (led by Chiang Kai-shek) and the Chinese Communists (led by Mao Zedong) that was waged in two main phases from 1927–36 and 1946–50 but may also describe any other armed conflict among military forces in China, especially in the 20th century, most of them during the Warlord Era, including:
- Taiping Rebellion (1850–64) between the Qing Dynasty and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom
- Xinhai Revolution (1911–12) between the Qing Dynasty and the Revolutionary Army
- Second Revolution (1913) between Yuan Shikai's republican government in Beijing and seven southern provinces
- National Protection War (1915–16) between Yuan Shikai as emperor and Yunnan general Cai E
- Constitutional Protection War (1917–18) between the Beiyang government and Sun Yat-sen
- Northern Expedition (1925–28) between the Chinese Nationalists (and their Communist allies until 1927) and the Beiyang government
- Central Plains War (1930) between the Nationalist government led by Chiang Kai-shek and an alliance among Yan Xishan, Feng Yuxiang and Li Zongren
- Fujian Rebellion (1933–34) between the 19th Route Army in Fujian and the Nationalist Government in Nanjing

Civil wars in ancient China always created dramatic disasters and usually the change of ruling house.
