Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again is a children's novel written by Frank Cottrell Boyce. It is a continuation of Ian Fleming's Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang.[1] Boyce was commissioned by the Fleming family to write this sequel.[2] The book was first published by Macmillan Children's Books in 2011.[3]

Plot

The Tooting family find a large abandoned engine and install it in their camper van. They don't know that the engine was once part of a flying car.[4] The camper van now has a mind of her own. The engine wants to be reunited with its original body. There are obstacles to be overcome along the way.

Reception

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize.[5]
