Christopher Woodrow is an American financier and businessman. He is the founder, chairman and CEO at MovieCoin[1][2], a financial technology company focused on leveraging blockchain technology and digital assets to create a new standard currency for entertainment financing, business transactions and consumer payments.[3][4]

Career

Woodrow served as chairman and CEO at Vendian Entertainment[5][6] and Worldview Entertainment,[7][8] motion picture financing and production companies, which financed and produced 30 feature films under his leadership.[9][10] His films, including Birdman, Black Mass and Hacksaw Ridge, have grossed in excess of $700 million worldwide, been nominated for 16 Academy Awards and won six Oscars including Best Picture. Variety named Woodrow as one of 10 Producers To Watch[11] in 2012, while Deadline named him as one of five Producers To Watch[12] at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013.[13][14][15]

Prior to this, Woodrow was managing director at Prospect Point Capital, an investment company focused on structured finance and venture capital opportunities in media and entertainment. He was previously a vice president at Citigroup Global Markets and worked in investment banking and asset management at Oppenheimer & Co.
