Coat of arms of Helsinki
Adopted1951

The coat of arms of Helsinki first appeared in a 17th-century seal of the city of Helsinki, capital of Finland.

Helsinki's coat of arms first appeared on a 17th-century seal.[1] The current design was drawn by heraldist A. W. Rancken in 1951.[citation needed] The blazon states: ”On a field azure, boat or on waves argent; crown or above the boat.”
