Colobosaura

Colobosaura is a monotypic genus of lizard, endemic to South America, in the family Gymnophthalmidae.[1]

Species

Only one species is recognized as being valid.[1]

Taxonomy

The genus Colobosaura used to contain two additional species: C. kraepelini and C. modesta. However, in 2007 Rodrigues et al. determined that C. kraepelini is a synonym of C. modesta, and that C. mentalis should be placed in the new genus Acratosaura as Acratosaura mentalis.[3]
