Count Me Out is a Merrie Melodies cartoon released to theaters on December 17, 1938. This short was directed by Ben Hardaway and Cal Dalton and stars Egghead, who would later evolve into Elmer Fudd in 1940.
Plot
Egghead decides to get rich by boxing, so he takes a boxing course on a phonograph. When he graduates, he takes on champion Biff Stew, who punches Egghead around until Egghead accidentally knocks him out. We learn this is a dream after Egghead is knocked out by his boxing equipment.
Trivia
This is the one of two Egghead cartoons directed by Ben Hardaway and Cal Dalton. The other was A-Lad-In Bagdad. The other 10 Egghead cartoons are directed by Tex Avery.
