Cyril Woolford is an English former domestic appliance technician, and rugby league footballer of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s who at representative level played for Yorkshire, and at club level played for Castleford, Doncaster, and Featherstone Rovers, at Wing, or Centre.[1][2][3]

Playing career

Cyril Woolford broke Eric Batten's "most tries in a season" record for Featherstone Rovers, by scoring 31-tries during the 1959–60 season, this record was later extended to 48-tries by Paul Newlove during the 1992–93 season (albeit at Second Division level).[4]

Personal life

Cyril Woolford's marriage to Elizabeth née Bradburn (birth registered during July→September 1932 (age 91–92) in Pontefract district) was registered during April→June 1954 in Pontefract district.[5] They had children; Neil M. Woolford (birth registered during January→March 1960 (age 63–64) in Wakefield district) was a rugby league Wing with Featherstone Rovers in the 1980s, and grandson Martyn is a association footballer.[4] Cyril Woolford lives in the Featherstone area.
