Italian-born jazz pianist and vocalist Diana Schaechter (born 14 February 1972 in Messina) has recorded twelve albums. She resides in New York City where she is a professor of Voice.

Early life

Jazz pianist and vocalist Daniela Schaechter was born Daniela Schachter 1972, in Messina, Italy. Schaechter is the daughter of pianist Beniamino Schachter, and singer Giuseppa Calabro.[1] By her early teens, she was already performing and doing session work on recordings in Sicily.[2] She graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor in Jazz Composition and Performance in 2002.

Musical career

Schaechter has performed at numerous festivals, including Cape Cod Jazz Festival, the Ravinia Jazz Festival, the Brass Group Jazz Festival, the Umbria Jazz Fest, the Cape May Jazz Festival, the International Trumpet Guilt Conference, the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Festival and the Java Jazz Festival.
