Danny Miller (economist)

Danny Miller (* 1947) is a canadian economist and Rogers-J.A.-Bombardier Chair of Entrepreneurship at HEC Montréal. He also holds the Chair of the Family Enterprise and Strategy.[1] According to HEC, Miller is the fifths-most cited management researcher in the world.[2]

Besides teaching, Miller works as a strategy consultant. According to his CV,[3] this includes McKinsey & Company, Andersen Consulting, Citicorp, DMR Inc., Goldmann Sachs and others.

Education

After a Master's degree in Business Administration in Toronto, Miller took a Ph.D. in Policy from McGill University (Montreal), supervised by Henry Mintzberg.[4]

Honors and Awards

2001 - Best Paper Award, Journal of Management[3]
2007 - Best Family Business Paper Award (together with Isabelle Le Breton-Miller, University of Alberta, and Richard H. Lester, Texas A&M University) for the article Divided Loyalties: Governance, Conduct and Performance in Family and Entrepreneur Businesses[5]
