David Armitage Bannerman (1886 - April 6, 1979) was a British ornithologist.

Bannerman was employed at the Natural History Museum. His books included The Birds of Tropical West Africa (8 vols, 1930-51), The Birds of West and Equatorial Africa (2 vols, 1953), The Birds of the British Isles (12 vols, 1933-63) and The Birds of the Atlantic Islands (4 vols, 1963-68).

He was chairman of the British Ornithologists' Club from 1932 to 1935.
