David Casals-Roma
David Casals-Roma (born 13 October 1972 - Lleida, Spain) is a Spanish writer/director based in the United Kingdom.[1]
When he finished his high school education, he began writing short stories and scripts, often whilst doing other jobs. In 1997 he moved to Amsterdam and began learning the intricacies of the film business whilst working as an IT technician.[1] His first experience as a filmmaker came two years later, when he moved to Brussels where he shot his first two short films.
In 2001, he moved to London where he studied film production at the London Academy of Radio Film and Television, and a BA in Film and Media at Birkbeck University of London. He also enrolled in different screenwriting and directing courses in Spain, United Kingdom, Italy and the United States.
David has directed short films, commercials, virals and has written several feature film scripts. He has won over 60 awards in Europe, Asia and America, and is now working on Citizen of the World, his feature film directional debut.[1] As well as filmmaking, he has written two novels and has been a screenwriter for other projects. He speaks fluent Catalan, English, French, Italian and Spanish.[1]
