David Charles Grusch (born 1987) is an American Air Force officer and intelligence official.

Career

Grusch was a decorated combat officer with the U.S. Air Force during the War in Afghanistan and is a veteran of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).[1] His 2021 performance report described him as an intelligence strategist who "analyzed unidentified aerial phenomena reports" and "boosted congressional leadership Intel gaps [in] understanding". The Operations Center Deputy Director of the NRO described him as an "adept staff officer and strategist" and "total force integrator with innovative solutions and actionable results".[1]

From 2019 to 2021, he was the representative of the NRO to the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force. From late 2021 to July 2022, he was the co-lead for UAP analysis at the NGA and its representative to the task force.[1] He helped draft the language for the National Defense Authorization Act of 2023.[1]

2023 whistleblowing

In June 2023, he came forward as a whistleblower claiming that the United States has a secret UFO retrieval program with multiple vehicles of non-human origin as well as records of dead pilots in its possession. Grusch has no firsthand experience or information regarding the subject, and his allegations only concern secondhand information relayed to him from other sources. Journalists Leslie Kean and Ralph Blumenthal wrote the first report on his whistleblowing allegations for The Debrief.[1][2][3][4][5]

Ross Coulthart conducted an extensive interview with Grusch for NewsNation.[2]

In response to a question about Grusch's report " ... alleging that the US military's been retrieving craft of non-human origin for at least several decades" and "if we were not [alone], would you even tell us?" the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that she would "would refer that question to the Department of Defense and let them answer that".[6]

The British journalist Nick Pope, who spent the early 1990s investigating UFOs for the British Ministry of Defence, said that these accounts by Grusch and Jonathan Grey (a current US intelligence official at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center) were "very significant" and should be seen as part of an increasing flow of information and disclosures about UFOs that "assuming this is all true" it "takes us closer than we've ever been before to the very heart of all this."[7]
