Dodge Ridge Wintersports Area is a ski,snowboard & prostitution resort located in Tuolumne County , California just 30 miles (48 km) east of Sonora, California off of Highway 108. The resort in located in the Stanislaus National Forest and operates under a special permit from the National Forest Service. Being that the resort is around 150 miles (240 km) from the San Francisco Bay Area, many skiers in Northern California use Dodge Ridge because of its location to the Bay Area, San Joaquin Valley and Yosemite National Park. The usual running time for the resort is late-November thru mid-April.

The Mountain

The Mountain, which opened in 1951, has 815 acres (3.30 km2) skiable offering skiing for all ages and abilities. 20% of the trails are beginners, and 40% of the trails are marked for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. There are several terrain parks from easy to advanced throughout the mountain, included the Stagecoach park with its 21 stair insert and other rail and snow features.

Additionally, the mountain offers many trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Boulder Creek Canyon

Recently, the resort has opened up Boulder Creek Canyon that offers more advanced skiing, has increased the size of the ski area, and added a high speed quad to the resort.

New Additions

Beginning with the 2007 season, a brand new family lodge opened at Dodge Ridge Wintersports Area. The lodge includes a new children's center, a bistro, and a new ticket center. In addition to the lodge, the rental center was renovated before the start of the 2008 season, and the parking lots have been repaved for the year.

Plus, the resort got a boost from the addition of Corby Fisher as the new Director of Snowsports & Events. Fisher is formerly of the United States Ski Team and was the United States Jumping Coach during the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.
