Dominique Riquet

Dominique Riquet (born 18 September 1946 in Valenciennes, Nord) is a French politician who is a Christian Democrat Member of the European Parliament (MEP) [1] and mayor of Valenciennes elected in the 2009 European election for the North-West constituency. He is a member of the Radical Party, a party affiliated with the Union for a Popular Movement.

In 2009, the UMP selected him to lead the UMP list in the North-West constituency ahead of the 2009 European elections. His list won 24.22% and he was easily elected to the European Parliament.
