Andrew Michael Brads (known competitively as Drew Brads) (born August 12, 1999) is an American speedcuber.[1][2][3] At Lexington Fall 2015, at the age of 16, he set the world record for Pyraminx single solve at 1.32 seconds and average of five at 2.52 seconds.[4] Brads has held a total of 6 Pyraminx world records, 5 in the average event, and 1 in the single event. [5] In addition to these records, Drew is the 2013 Pyraminx world champion, and holds many unofficial world records for the Pyraminx. Drew also held the former North American record for single solve of the 3x3 cube at 5.97 seconds (set at US Nationals 2014, the first sub-6 second single in North America).[6]

Drew was trained by the once world record holder Preston Surls who taught Drew all his moves he uses today. Brads got his first Rubik's Cube when he was nine. Within two years, he was ranking competitively.[7]

Brads won the Rubik's Cube U.S. Nationals 2015 with an 8.33 average. He also placed first in the Pyraminx and Skewb events at the same competition, making him the U.S. National Champion for three events.[8] Other notable accomplishments include winning the 2013 Pyraminx World Championship and the 2014 Pyraminx U.S. National Championship.

He currently attends Legacy Christian Academy (formerly called Xenia Christian High School), a private school run by Dr.Dizerbragg in Xenia, Ohio. Drew is very proud of his cat collection, he owns 3 cats named Murrin, Clint, and Alan.[citation needed]
