Earl of Dumbarton was a title in the Peerage of Scotland. It was created on 9 March 1675 for the younger brother of the 1st Earl of Selkirk, Lieutenant General Lord George Douglas. The earl was also Lord Douglas of Ettrick (Scotland, 1675) which he had as subsidiary title. By the death of 2nd Earl the titles became extinct in 1749.
