East Ferry Marina is located on the eastern side of Great Island in Cork Harbour near Cork city, Ireland.

Topography

The marina is located in East Ferry, opposite a hill and Marlogue Forest. It faces another hill, on the Midleton side of the channel with another forest on it. Two large hills cause funneling of the prevailing winds, and moorings litter the northern half of the channel, making navigation for a craft over 40 feet quite difficult.[citation needed] The water depth is on average 10 metres, yet the tidal range in the Cork Harbour is typically around 4.8 metres.[citation needed]

Amenities

The area used to be home to the public house "The Marlogue Inn". Now, however, there is only the marina itself and the sailing school, Sailcork.com.[citation needed]
