East Lake Academy of Fine Arts, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee is a Title 1 public middle school. The school first opened in 2000. As of October, 2015 the student population of East Lake was 539 students in 6-8th grades. The student population is 60.1% African American or Black, 31.7% Latino or Hispanic, and 8.2% White.[1] The school is a 1:1 tech school with each student having access to a Chromebook during the day.

Administration

Lakesha Carson is the current principal of East Lake Academy of Fine Arts. The school has two serving assistant principals: Elias Smith and Michael Smith.[2]

Mission

"The mission of East Lake Academy is to change our world through authentic learning experiences linked to academics, arts, and technology"[3]

Fine Arts

East Lake currently has the fine arts of art, band, bible history, chorus, computer literacy, computer technology and education, and PE.
