Eastern Orthodoxy is one of the three main religions in Montenegro, and the largest. According to the latest census, 446,858 people (72.07%) registered as Orthodox Christians. The majority of Orthodox people are adherents of the Serbian Orthodox Church, that has 3 dioceses in the country: Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, Eparchy of Budimlja and Nikšić and Eparchy of Mileševa. A minor percentage support the uncanonical and unrecognized Montenegrin Orthodox Church which claims the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro.
