Empire Wyoming was a black community in Eastern Wyoming, near the Nebraska state border, between 1908-1920.

It was founded in 1908 by African American families from Custer County, Nebraska.[1]

In 2008 Todd Guenther won the Nebraska State Historical Society's annual James L. Sellers Memorial Award, for the best article published in the year's Nebraska History, for his article "The Empire Builders: an African American Odyssey in Nebraska and Wyoming".[1]
