Encyclopedia Mythica is an internet encyclopedia that purports to cover folklore, mythology, and religion.[1] This encyclopedia was founded in June 1995[2] as a small site with about 300 entries, and established with its own domain name in March 1996. As of January 2013, it features more than 7000 articles.

It is recommended by Kristina Nowlin for classroom research as it seems to be accurate.[3] Randy L. Abbott reviewed it as interesting for students.[4] Phil Nast considered it useful for students from 5th to 12th grades.[5]

Due to its status as an unreliable source, Encyclopedia Mythica is blacklisted from use as a reference on Wikipedia.
