Ergane is a genus of the spider family Salticidae (jumping spiders).

The male of E. benjarei is 9 mm long. The conformation of the pedipalp and the abdominal pattern suggest that Ergane is close to Chalcotropis.[1]

Name

The goddess Athena was called Athena Ergane as the patron of craftsmen and artisans.
