The Euthanasia Laws Act 1997 (Cth) is an Australian statute of the Commonwealth Parliament which amended the Northern Territory (Self-Government) Act 1978,[1] the Australian Capital Territory (Self-Government) Act 1988 (Cth) and the Norfolk Island Act 1979 (Cth) to remove the power of each of those territories to legalise euthanasia, and specifically to repeal the Rights of the Terminally Ill Act 1995 (NT).
