Русский: Кафедральный собор Успения Пресвятой Богородицы во Владимире. Конец марта. Вид с востока на запад. Перед самым восходом солнца.
Многие явления встречаются здесь: прошлое с настоящим, день с ночью, солнце с луной, зима с летом, холм с низиной, замёрзшая тропинка в снегу с городской улицей, но всех неумолимей противостоят друг другу возвышенная идея, символом которой выступает древний собор, и самая обычная повседневность, представленная разрушающимся зданием в левом нижнем углу фотографии. Сколько других построек сменилось под холмом за истекшее тысячелетие? Все они исчезли без следа. А собор продолжает стоять на своей верхотуре, знаменуя исконное человеческое стремление к высокому.
English: A city of Vladimir, a center of Vladimir region in Russia. The view from east to west on the Dormition (Assumption) Cathedral. At the end of March. Early morning just before the sunrise.
Many things meet here: day and night, sun and moon, winter and summer, high ground and low land, a frozen footpath in the snow and a city road, past and present, but above all - a lofty idea and a common, mundane everyday life. The force of an idea is symbolized by the cathedral, stubbornly standing in the same place for many centuries. The transience of everyday life, fleeting and ephemeral, is represented by the the ruins of the old building seen at the left bottom of the picture, downhill. How many other buildings of various kinds stood there before? All gone, but cathedral remains.
Italiano: La cattedrale della Dormizione nella città di Vladimir in Russia, prima dell'alba, vista dal ovest nel marzo del 2019.
Molte cose qui si congiungono: giorno e notte, sole e luna, inverno ed estate, terra in alto e in basso, sentiero ghiacciato nella neve e strada urbana, passato e presente, ma soprattutto una sublima idea incarnata nella cattedrale antica e un segno della vita quotidiana, comune e mondana, rappresentato dalle rovine del vecchio edificio, trovato nell'angolo inferiore sinistro della fotografia, sotto la collina. Quanti altri edifici di tal natura c'erano prima? Tutti sono scomparsi, ma la cattedrale rimane sempre imperturbata.
