English: Soon Adhan will be called. The Minaret stands on the Shahi Mosque (meaning Royal Mosque), Shaista Khan Road, Posta, Lalbagh, Dhaka. It is also known as Farrukh Siyar Mosque, and probably is the largest Mughal mosque in Bangladesh, built by Prince Farrukhsiyar between 1703 and 1706. Farrukhsiyar was son of Azim Us Shan, who was grandson of Emperor Aurangajeb (and son of Bahadur Shah 1st aka Muhammad Muazzam). Farrukhsiyar was appointed Naib Nazim by his father who was the then Viceroy of Bengal, appointed by Emperor Aurangajeb. Farrukhsiyar resided in Bengal in those days, and built this mosque. Later, he would ascend to the Mughal throne. The picture is taken from almost 2.5 km away (direct distance).
