മലയാളം: വെങ്കണനീലി നിശാശലഭങ്ങൾ വെങ്കണമരത്തിലാണ് മുട്ടയിടുന്നത്. കാരണം വെങ്കണനീലിയുടെ ലാർവകൾ വെങ്കണച്ചെടിയുടെ (Carallia brachiata) ഇലകൾ മാത്രമേ ഭക്ഷണമാക്കൂ... അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഈ നിശാശലഭങ്ങൾ വെങ്കണനീലി എന്ന് വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഇത് വെങ്കണനീലിയുടെ ലാർവയുടെ ചിത്രമാണ്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ വെങ്കണനീലികളെ Blue Tiger Moth എന്നാണ് വിളിക്കുന്നത്. ഇവയുടെ ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം : Dysphania percota. English: The blue Tiger moth lays its eggs in the Venggana Tree (വെങ്കണമരം) . Because Blue Tiger Moth's larvae feed only on the leaves of Vengana Tree (Carallia brachiata)... That's why these moths are called Venggananeeli (വെങ്കണനീലി) in Malayalam language. This is a picture of the larva of Blue Tiger Moth. They are found in Kerala, India. Their scientific name: Dysphania percota. தமிழ்: வெள்ளி நீல நிற அந்துப்பூச்சி வெள்ளி மரத்தில் முட்டையிடுகிறது. வெங்கனநீலி லார்வாக்கள் வெங்கனநீலியின் (Carallia brachiata) இலைகளை மட்டுமே உண்பதால்... அதனால்தான் இந்த அந்துப்பூச்சிகளை மலையாள மொழியில் வெங்கனநீலி என்று அழைக்கிறார்கள். இது வெங்கன நீலியின் லார்வாவின் படம். அவை இந்தியாவில் கேரளாவில் காணப்படுகின்றன. அவற்றின் அறிவியல் பெயர்: Dysphania percota. |
