  • Description:
  1. Dark blue is the color taken from the Virginia State flag.
  2. The indented portion of the mace symbolizes mountains, alluding to the location of the unit, Roanoke, Virginia, near the Blue Ridge Mountains.
  3. The star reflects Roanoke’s nickname, “The Star City of the South,” which is inscribed on the mace.
  4. The drum displays the Virginia State crest below a yellow scroll edged white inscribed “TWENTY NINTH ARMY BAND” in dark blue; below are the campaigns and the awards of the unit.
  5. The tabard displays the state crest, surmounted on the shape of the shoulder sleeve insignia worn by the unit.
  • Background: The band regalia was approved on 2006-05-15.
