Description
Lëtzebuergesch: De Chronogram (1859) iwwer der Entree vun der Kierch zu Elveng. Church of St Jean, Elvange, Luxembourg. Latin text, commemorating a second rebuilding after a fire: Bis renovata domus tibi sit sacrata Joannes ut Phoenix vivax nascitur e cinere ("A home twice renewed for you; may it be sacred; John like a Phoenix is born alive from the ash"). The taller letters when taken individually as Roman numerals add to 1,859, the date of the second rebuilding.
