The Chrysler Corporation was founded in 1925. In 1928, Chrysler expanded, he established Plymouth and DeSoto brands and also acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers Motors and started selling vehicles under those names.
1957 saw the new forward look design with dramatically lower bodies and soaring tailfins. 1960 saw a new unibody frame, sad mouth grille. 1961 got another new grille and slanted headlights.
Five models were available;
The base model was now the Newport, in 2 or 4 door Hardtop, 2 door Convertible, 4 door sedan and Town and Country Wagon.
The last year for the Windsor, in 2 or 4 door hardtop and 4 door Sedan.
The upmarket model was the New Yorker, in 2 or 4 door Hardtop, 4 door Sedan, 2 door Convertible and Town and Country Wagon.
The high performance model was the 300F 2 door Hardtop and Convertible.
The long Wheelbase Imperial, now marketed under its own brand, not using the Chrysler name, was available in base Custom, mid range Crown and top LeBaron.
